Mission San Luis Field Trip

For 4-H one week we went to see the exhibits at the Mission San Luis, which offers a home school event once a month with different themes. This month's theme was "Children's Life and Games in 1703". It was really fun.

We learned about different puzzle games that a blacksmith might make, as well as how to make chain links and nails.

We learned that children's entertainment in 1703 was largely live stories. The stuffed animal characters were fun for the kids to help enact the story with.

We learned about using a mortar and pestle when cooking in 1703.

We saw a giant tent in which native peoples might've lived and worked in 1703.
